The Construction Management (Level 6 Top-up) programme is designed to prepare you for managing construction projects from initial design through to completion and occupation. You will develop the managerial skills needed to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to high industry standards.
The course provides in-depth knowledge of construction management and the complexities involved in modern projects. You will explore the environmental impact of construction, sustainable building methods, and innovative management practices. Social innovation and sustainability are embedded throughout, supporting the competencies expected by professional bodies such as the CIOB.
By the end of the programme, you will understand key principles in construction technology, professional practice, ethics, health and safety, and legal and managerial responsibilities. You will be equipped to work as a construction professional with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines.
Written Assessment: 350 words reflective essay.
Assessments throughout the course
Assessment methods are designed to help you demonstrate key construction management skills and include essays, reports, presentations, real-life simulations, projects, and group debates. Independent study is essential, and lecturers will guide you on how to approach your work throughout the course.
Assessment methods are reviewed annually to ensure they remain current and academically robust, with oversight from an independent External Examiner.
