Course Overview

This Level 6 top-up degree course builds on your existing knowledge to develop a strong understanding of modern business theory and practice. You will strengthen essential skills in leadership, management, and organisational strategy, with a focus on real-world application.

Modules are designed around practical, industry-relevant activities such as pitching, presenting, reporting, managing teams, and leading projects. A dedicated New Trends in Management module ensures your knowledge remains current and aligned with contemporary business thinking.

Graduates gain versatile skills applicable across a wide range of sectors, opening diverse career opportunities in both public and private organisations, or through starting and managing a business.

Assessment

Assessments throughout the course 

You will be assessed through a variety of methods designed to test your business knowledge and management skills. These may include presentations, work-related projects, group work, computer-based simulations, podcasts, exams, essays, videos, and business reports.

You will be expected to complete research, homework, and group work in your own time. Self-study is essential to success on this course, and lecturers will provide guidance throughout your studies.

Assessment methods at university are reviewed annually and may be updated in response to student feedback, course content, or recommendations from an External Examiner – an independent academic from another higher education institution who ensures academic standards are maintained.

Entry Requirements

Applicants Must be Aged 18+ and:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification or an Access to Higher Education certificate
  • Demonstrate English proficiency (GCSE grade 4/C or CEFR B2). Applicants without this may complete an English test at a university campus
  • Pass an academic interview

Applicants Aged 21+: 

  • Applications are welcomed from candidates who do not meet the standard entry requirements but can demonstrate commitment to study and relevant academic, professional, or vocational experience. English proficiency requirements still apply.
