The assessment strategy is designed to develop the full range of knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required in health and social care. Assessment methods align with intended learning outcomes, sector standards, student needs, and our academic approach, ensuring an effective and engaging learning experience.

A variety of assessment formats are used, including essays, reports, presentations, debates, and small group projects. Real-life simulations are incorporated where appropriate, enabling students to apply reflective judgement, construct evidence-based arguments, and propose informed recommendations. Students will also conduct independent research and present objective, well-referenced conclusions.

Group projects require active participation from all members and are evaluated through peer review and collaborative presentations. Presentations – both individual and group – will assess understanding of specific scenarios and include a question-and-answer component. Structured debates will allow students to demonstrate teamwork, respect for differing viewpoints, and the ability to communicate and defend arguments effectively.
